The Story Beneath the Story is a 90-minute live workshop with depth practitioner Mikey Brackett, designed to help you listen more deeply to the people you sit with and to your own life. Every person who sits across from us is telling a story. Underneath that story there is usually an older one: a myth, a fairy tale, or an image that has been quietly shaping their life for decades.
Together, we will explore how to listen for the mythic threads running through a conversation, how to follow them without forcing meaning onto them, and how to bring a mythopoetic lens into your work in a way that feels grounded and practical rather than abstract. This is not about memorising myths or interpreting someone's life for them. It's about learning to hear the image beneath the words, and to let it open up new ways of understanding what is unfolding.
Through teaching, live examples, and shared conversation, you'll begin to recognise the deeper stories shaping the conversations you hold and discover simple ways to work with them in real time. No background in mythology or depth psychology is required, only curiosity and a willingness to listen differently.
This workshop is for you if you:
Are a therapist, coach, or space holder who wants to bring more depth into your sessions
Sense there's more beneath what clients share but aren't sure how to reach it
Want to start hearing your own life and story a little differently
You'll leave with:
A new way of listening for the mythic and archetypal threads in a conversation
Practical ways to follow those threads without forcing meaning
A foundation for bringing a mythopoetic lens into your work and your own inner life
When: Thursday, October 22nd, 12pm PT / 3pm ET
Length: 90 minutes
Where: Live online
Investment: $59 USD
The stories we carry don't just live in us. They live through us, in how we love, how we work, how we hold space for others.
Learning to listen for them is one of the most quietly powerful skills we can develop.
